Three-Phase Power Calculator

For balanced sinusoidal three-phase systems, computes apparent power S = √3 V_LL I_L, active power P = S cos φ, and the magnitude of reactive power from |Q| = √(S² − P²). You supply line-to-line voltage and line current consistent with your diagram.

How to use

  1. 1Enter RMS line-to-line voltage and RMS line current.
  2. 2Enter displacement power factor cos φ between 0 and 1.
  3. 3Read apparent (VA), active (W), and reactive magnitude (var).

Frequently asked questions

What about unbalanced phases?
This tool assumes a balanced set. Unbalanced systems need per-phase or symmetrical-component analysis.
Does cos φ include harmonics?
No. It is the displacement factor for fundamental frequency; non-sinusoidal true PF is not modeled.
